Prepare for trouble Pokémon Trainers! In just a few short months you can finally get your hands on more Team Rocket cards when Destined Rivals (DRI) launches on 30 May.
The official Pokémon site confirmed the release date, shared some artwork, and added a few specifics about what we can expect to see in the set.
The latest set, Journey Together, saw the return of the extremely popular trainer mechanic alongside some absolutely stunning artwork (that Lillie's Clefairy, am I right?!)
It has been YEARS since we've seen anything Rocket related and I am frothing to get my hands on some of these cards. From what I've found, we can expect to see additional trainer cards that include Cynthia, Ethan, Misty, Marnie, and Arven, and over 45 Team Rocket Pokémon.
What You Can Expect From the Set:
The noteworthy inclusions with Destined Rivals includes:
Over 240 cards
Over 85 Trainer Pokémon cards (over 45 of these will be Team Rocket based)
More than 15 Pokémon ex
Over 20 Trainer cards
More than 45 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations
3 Gold Cards
After some digging, I saw that the set sources its cards from Japan's Glory of Team Rocket, Heat Wave Arena, and the Marnie and Steven decks. Justinbasil has created a Destined Rivals visual set list.
The Destined Rivals product list includes:
Regular Elite Trainer Box
Booster Box (18-pack and 36-pack)
2-Pack Blister
Premium Checklane Blister
Booster Bundle (6 packs)
Build & Battle Box
It is worth noting that the promo card for the ETB is none other than Wobbuffet:
